Street Games, 2022, 24"X36", 1,300 Screws
This piece is a replica of the unfinished prototype of my first work with screws. I left it alone for some time, not feeling comfortable with the process. However, as I perfected the style, I felt compelled to complete it for this show. The piece intends to recreate the lighthearted atmosphere of games played in the streets as kids. The boys are featured prominently in the foreground, but on closer look, you can see that life continues in the community around them. As adults go about their lives, children enjoy the fleeting joys of childhood.
